Flowood

After becoming The City of Flowood, Mississippi, in 1990, Flowood began rising to the top as one of the most unique and accomodating cities in Mississippi. Flowood is located in Rankin County, only a few miles east of Jackson, and is one of the fastest growing and smartest cities in the state. The expansion of the city is greatly supported by the top-rated Police and Fire Departments. Flowood has a great deal to offer in many different areas of living; from retail stores to recreational facilities, Flowood has it all!

Flowood is home to some of the top schools in Mississippi. Due to the boom in population, Northwest Rankin Elementary has split into Oakdale Elementary, Highland Bluff Elementary, and Northshore Elementary. Northwest Rankin Middle and High Schools, Flowood Elementary, University Christian School, and Jackson Preporatory School are all great schools that Flowood offers.

Flowood also claims some of the best shopping facilities in the state. Dogwood Festival Market, Dogwood Promenade, Lakeland Commons, and the Market Street Shopping Center are all fabulous centers fairly new to the city.
